• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
For my magazine I used Microsoft publisher and word. These helped me create a more professional look to my magazine and give style to my publication. I have learnt and furthered my skills on the computer, I do not general like using computers for this kind of work but I feel I have greater confidence now for my music magazine task.

Evaluation (Part5)
• How did you attract/address your audience?
What did you include in your mag to make it attractive to your target audience? Spend some time discussing the front cover – remember this is the hook that makes people buy it (70% of people buy their mags on the spur of the moment) Think also about mode of address – how does your mag “talk” to the audience. Why would someone want to buy your magazine?
To attract my target audience I felt it necessary to use in-formal language as this speaks out more to teenagers. I also incorporated catchy but short cover lines as the concentration span of a teenager is more likely to be less that that of an elder. The bold heading I have used would make this magazine standout amongst the crowd and more likely to be bought.

Evaluation (Part4)
• Who would be the audience for your media product?
Age? Gender? General profile of your audience?
I would like to believe that my magazine appeals to both males and females, at least, I have meant it to be this way. I feel that most stories attract both genders so it would be pointless making a magazine that is gender orientated.

Evaluation (Part3)
• What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Which institutions already publish magazines like yours? Or perhaps you might mention an institution that has a gap in the market…Why would a company want to distribute your magazine – what does it offer? You could mention here that the college might distribute it and that although we already have a college mag that yours is better?
I feel that the college would distribute my magazine and maybe the student council also.

Evaluation (Part2)
• How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Which social groups have you represented e.g. teenagers? Students? How have you represented them? Discuss the images you have used, the language you have used, the ratio of text to pictures etc
Again maybe copy and paste some cover lines from your magazine to show this
I chose for my target audience to be students as it is a student magazine that I am creating. I understand that students are stereotyped in more than way, I mean there can be: geeks, chav’s, poplars’, emo’s etc... So getting a magazine to suit all these stereotypes can be hard. I wanted to make sure that my front cover was standout because I feel that a first impression is the most important one.
Evaluation (Part1)
• In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
What are the conventions (key ingredients) of student magazines? What does the front cover have to include? What is a typical contents page like? How have you included these conventions in your own mag? Have you done anything differently? How have you pushed the boundaries of this form?
Consider putting an image of your magazine next to an image of a real student magazine and make some comparisons
The key ingredients of a student magazine are:
-Front Cover
-Contents Page
-Cover Lines
-Masthead
-Pictures with captions
For my magazine I have incorporated all of these elements as they individually add that little extra to a magazine. The cover line gives the magazine an identify so as that the audience will be able recognise on future occasions. This is also the main standout feature of a magazine; of course when you refer to your favourite magazines you don’t just say that it’s a music magazine; you tell your friend the magazines’ name, for example: NME or Kerrang.

Front Cover
I feel this front cover works as it is bright and colourful and the bold font of the heading shows out to the reader. I have chosen the colour scheme of red and yellow as i believe these suited the style of my magazine and are ckearly read ahead of the backround image.
Please leave comments on whether you like this cover or if u feel changes needed to be made.
